Rocket launch spotted

The Long March 8 rocket was captured on the observatory’s all-sky camera. Part of China’s primary family of expendable launch vehicles, the Long March series has carried a wide range of missions into space. Similar rockets have also launched the Shenzhou crewed spacecraft and the Chang’e lunar orbiters. The fuel dump of the rocket can be seen on the right side of the image as a pale streak.
